Wie Astronauten und Meerjungfrauen auf das Kreuzfahrtschiff kommen und eine Geschichte erzählen

Malen nach Zahlen ist eine schöne Beschäftigung für Kinder. Ein Bild setzt sich aus vielen einzelnen Flächen zusammen, die mit Zahlen versehen sind und die Kinder malen sie mit den entsprechenden Farben aus. Und so wie es im Kinderzimmer funktioniert, funktioniert es auch bei uns. Nur eben größer. Viel größer!

Auch bei uns werden die Bemalungen nach dem Prinzip „Malen nach Zahlen“ an die Außenhaut der Kreuzfahrtschiffe gebracht. Zunächst werden die Konturen aufgebracht. Anhand eines Plans, auf dem für jede einzelne Fläche eine Farbnummer hinterlegt ist, wissen die Mitarbeiter genau, welches Feld mit welcher Farbe „ausgemalt“ werden muss. 

Die Farben werden mit dem Pinsel oder der Farbrolle aufgetragen. Und da es sich nicht um A4-Bilder, sondern um riesige Flächen handelt, kann es von der ersten Kontur bis zum letzten Pinselstrich bis zu fünf Monate dauern. Bei unserem Neubau, der World Dream, entsteht so aus vielen einzelnen Flächen und nur 25 verschiedenen Farbtönen derzeit ein gigantisches Kunstwerk. 

Der chinesische Künstler Jacky Tsai hat dieses Kunstwerk bei der World Dream und bei der bei der Genting Dream entworfen. Beide Bemalungen zeigen eine Liebesgeschichte, und zwar keine gewöhnliche.


Auf beiden Schiffen sind vier Hauptfiguren zu sehen: Der Kapitän des Schiffes, Chang’e, eine Chinesische Zauberin, die Familie, Liebe und Wiedervereinigung repräsentiert sowie eine Meerjungfrau und ein Astronaut.

Der Kapitän fühlt sich, obwohl er von allen verehrt wird, oft einsam. Eines Tages nach einem langen Arbeitstag blickt er Richtung Himmel und entdeckt die chinesische Zauberin Chang’e, die für Liebe, Familie und Wiedervereinigung steht. Diese und weitere positive Symbole wie glückliche Kinder oder Elfen weisen darauf hin, dass der Kapitän schon bald mit seiner Familie vereint und glücklich sein wird.

Die Darstellung des Astronauten und der Meerjungfrau, Händchen haltend und die Welt bereisend, stellt die Verbindung zwischen der Bemalung der Genting Dream und der World Dream her. Auch sie wurden durch die Zauberin Chang’e zusammengebracht und auch sie repräsentieren eine Liebesgeschichte. Blickten sie zunächst in eine ungewisse Zukunft, fliegen sie nun gemeinsam Richtung Mond und sind auf ewig glücklich.
